Donors and sponsors, we can’t do without them
The Hague Animal Center guarantees responsible shelter, medical care and rehoming of homeless dogs and cats from The Hague. There are about 1,200 of them per year. The costs of daily care, but also those of the necessary medical treatments and medication are high.
We receive compensation from the municipality of The Hague for the first two weeks of a dog or cat’s stay. We are responsible for the following weeks/months ourselves. We get part of our income from the proceeds of the boarding house and the adoption fees. In addition, we organize all kinds of activities and events such as the Open Day, a Benefit Evening, an annual (online) collection, etc.
However, the financial support of donors and sponsors is essential for the continued existence of our shelter.
Become a donor
Imagine if there were no shelter for stray dogs and cats in The Hague. On average, around 1,200 animals per year would have to live on the streets, uncastrated and unsterilized. Sad for the animals and bad for our health.
Fortunately, we can offer them shelter and (medical) care. Or help with any behavioral problems, so that every animal has a prospect of a better future.

Contribute to a cat shelter or a dog kennel
Does donating 1 on 1 appeal to you more? Then support a cat shelter or dog kennel.
You help with the temporary housing of the animals. We call this the Animal Center Adoption Plan and it offers a number of options for a fixed amount per year. If you commit to this for at least 5 years, you can benefit from tax advantages. And if you want, your name will appear on the sign at the kennel or cat room!

‘Unfortunately, I can’t have a pet myself. I’m away from home too much and too often for my work. Otherwise I would definitely have one from the Hague Animal Center. Now I sponsor a cat kennel for 250 euros a year. In fact, I now provide shelter for a lot of cats and that makes me happy. Of course I hope that all the cats that stay in ‘my’ kennel will soon find a nice home.’

Organize a fundraiser
Have you ever thought about organizing a fundraiser for shelter animals yourself? For example, by asking for a contribution instead of a gift for your birthday, wedding or anniversary.
Selling a homemade painting or homemade cakes. Or by simply placing a collection box at your company.
Organizing a fundraiser for blankets or cat toys, scratching posts or treats for the dogs is fun to do and even more fun for our animals to receive!
