Our veterinary assistants

Mirjam: I am Mirjam Vollebregt, and I have been working at the Haags Dierencentrum since 2009, where I have had the pleasure of working in the cat and dog departments. In 2017, I made the transition to the clinic. One of the most rewarding parts of my work as an assistant is caring for and seeing sick animals recover.

Jessica: My name is Jessica. After completing my para-veterinary training in May 2023, I started at the Haags Dierencentrum in September 2023.

I first worked in the boarding facility, and in December, I transitioned to the clinic. During my studies, I also did an internship here (on the dog department).

Thanks to the great experience, I was excited to start as a permanent staff member, and I continue to help the sweet animals with much love.

Anneke: My name is Anneke Strating. I have been working with much love and pleasure for the Haags Dierencentrum and the shelter animals since 1983 (with some breaks in between). Now as a volunteer, together with the rest of the team, we ensure every day that homeless shelter animals and boarding guests receive the best medical care.

Edith: Hello, I am Edith van Uden. I have been working at the Haags Dierencentrum since 2005. First as a volunteer in the cat department. Later as a permanent staff member in the cat department. Due to illness, I am unable to work full-time, but I was allowed to join the clinic as a volunteer. I have been doing this with great pleasure for many years now.

Joke: My name is Joke Nota. After years of having a full-time job, I had extra time to dedicate to shelter animals. For several years, I have been working with great pleasure in the clinic.

The days and the work are varied; I assist the veterinarian and the veterinary assistants and care for the animals in the ward.

Every day there is plenty of work to be done. From replenishing clean laundry to helping during an emergency in the operating room. I hope to be able to continue caring for the animals with the team for many more years.
