Vacancy: Fundraiser at the Haags Dierencentrum
We are looking for a new colleague to join our organization!

What will you do?

As a fundraiser, you are responsible for identifying, approaching, and maintaining relationships with both potential and existing donors and sponsors. Your work plays a key role in securing the future of the Haags Dierencentrum (HDC).

Your tasks will include:

Developing a strategy for attracting new donors and legacy gifts
Creating a strategy to engage companies for sponsorship opportunities
Organizing and executing (sponsor) events and donation campaigns
Maintaining relationships with current donors and sponsors
Finding grant-making foundations for project funding
Ensuring visibility and positive public awareness of HDC
Monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of fundraising activities
What do you bring?

A strong desire to use your talents to help (stray) animals in the The Hague region
Affinity with the mission and activities of Haags Dierencentrum (see our policy plan)
Knowledge and experience in relationship management, networking, fundraising, social media, and/or crowdfunding
A relevant degree in fields like communication, marketing, or fundraising
At least two years of experience in fundraising for charities, preferably in the animal welfare sector
A proven track record of successful fundraising results
Excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written
Strong social and communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain diverse relationships
A proactive, creative, results-oriented, and resilient mindset
The ability to inspire and engage people in support of animal welfare
A valid driver’s license

– A salary according to the CAO Welfare & Social Services, scale 8 (minimum €2,125 and maximum €2,554 gross per month for a full-time position)

About Stichting Haags Dierencentrum

As the oldest and one of the largest animal shelters in the Netherlands, we provide professional care and medical treatment for stray and abandoned cats and dogs from the The Hague region. We have entered our 148th year of operation, a milestone we have reached thanks to our dedicated staff and volunteers with knowledge and passion for animals. Currently, 23 permanent staff members and over 100 volunteers work at HDC. We have had our own veterinary clinic for more than 100 years, with a team of veterinarians and assistants. Additionally, we offer short-term boarding for cats and dogs.
