The Haags Dierencentrum is taking a major step towards sustainability. Thanks to a generous Dream Check from Stichting DierenLot, the animal center can immediately begin making the building more sustainable. A long-held wish is finally becoming a reality.
Dream Cheque of €127,000 for sustainability
During the National Animal Aid Meeting of Stichting DierenLot on April 26, the Haags Dierencentrum received a Dream Cheque worth no less than €127,000. With this financial support, solar panels and infrared heating will be installed immediately. This means not only significant energy savings but also a more comfortable stay for the animals.
Major impact on energy consumption and animal welfare
The current building is over 30 years old and uses a lot of gas. High energy costs have been a major concern for a long time. By investing in solar panels, infrared heating, and smart thermostat valves, energy consumption will be greatly reduced. At the same time, the indoor climate in the dog kennels will improve significantly.
The chairman of the Haags Dierencentrum responds enthusiastically:
“We were totally surprised and are incredibly happy with this contribution. Thanks to this donation, we can finally make a solid start on our sustainability plan.”
Sustainability as a starting point for more
These first sustainable measures form an important foundation for the future. Moreover, they provide the confidence to look further. For example, a heat pump and insulated glass are also on the wish list. The Dream Cheque received is therefore not only a huge support but also a powerful incentive to continue becoming more sustainable.
The Haags Dierencentrum remains committed to a sustainable future, where animal welfare and environmentally conscious work go hand in hand. Financial support remains of great importance and is very welcome in the future as well.
