Hi!
It’s been over two months now since I was able to pick up Jens. And he’s doing so well in his new home! In the beginning, he was very playful, but also a bit restless. That was followed by a phase where he actually slept a lot. By now, Jens has found a nice and stable rhythm between sleeping and playing.
One thing is for sure: Jens is always hungry. In the beginning, he ate so greedily that he would throw up his food immediately. That’s why I now divide his portions and put some in a treat ball. It works perfectly. This way he eats more slowly and gets an extra challenge at the same time.
He loves playing. Sometimes he entertains himself, but when he wants to play together, he makes it very clear. He meows in a special way, runs into the hallway, and challenges me to a game of hide-and-seek. His enthusiasm is contagious and brings joyful moments every day.
Loud noises like thunder and fireworks are still scary for him. Yet he doesn’t hide. Instead, he comes to check with me to see if everything is safe. With a cuddle and a pet, he quickly relaxes again.
Jens is still a bit distant, but I see his confidence growing more and more. Being picked up isn’t allowed yet, but he decides for himself when he wants attention. More and more often, he comes to sit on my lap for a cuddle. That feels like a huge victory.
In the spring, we’re going to carefully see how he explores the balcony. The pigeons are already providing daily entertainment.
I am incredibly happy with this match. Jens brings humor, energy, and companionship into the home, and I hope to enjoy his company for a very long time.
