We were fortunately able to help Tatsu

Every day, cats and dogs are brought to us that need temporary or permanent care. As soon as an animal arrives, it undergoes an initial check-up by our own veterinarians so we can get a clear picture of its health. In many cases, something turns out to be wrong, ranging from minor ailments to more serious health problems. Based on these findings, a personal treatment plan is drawn up to give the animal the right care. This was also the case for ‘Tatsu’, who received the attention he needed immediately after the first check to make him healthy and happy again.

Tatsu is one of many

Tatsu came to us on June 6, 2024, as a ‘stray’, a sweet red-and-white Maine Coon of about 3 years old. It was immediately clear that he wasn’t feeling well. In his long hair we found a lot of flea dirt, he was too thin, and he had a hole in his upper lip where his canine tooth was sticking through. During his dental surgery, where the canine tooth was removed, his lip was also treated.

However, his health problems weren’t over yet. His stool remained poor despite various types of diet food, medication, blood tests, and an abdominal ultrasound, and he regularly suffered from bladder infections. Additionally, he was squinting because of inward-curling eyelashes on his lower eyelids (entropion). Two surgeries (one of which was with a specialist), applying ointment three times a day, and wearing a cone for weeks followed. Fortunately, Tatsu was allowed to move to the space near the clinic, where he had company and lots of cuddles all day long.

Finally home

Almost a year after his arrival, and after countless medical treatments, Tatsu was finally allowed to go home with the person who had found him. Although his eyes still require intensive care, this is now lovingly taken over by his owner. This way, Tatsu finally gets the rest, attention, and care he needed so badly, and he can lead a happy life in his new home.

We badly need your help

Besides Tatsu, we have been able to help many other animals. Like the two small Maltese dogs, Penny and Rodgers, who had to have surgery on their knees by an orthopedic specialist. Thanks to your help and the 24-hour rehabilitation care from the staff at the dog department, they can walk and play again without pain. This is what we do for the animals together with you!
