Good news about Pattex! This handsome lady was recently adopted from the Haags Dierencentrum and her new family is happy to share a positive update.
The first few days in her new home went surprisingly well. Pattex has already discovered several rooms and is feeling increasingly confident in the house. Moreover, she is using the litter box properly. On Saturday and Monday, she used the same box for both urinating and defecating. That is a great step in her settling-in process.
Still, she also showed that she is smart and curious. On Monday morning, she managed to slip out through the front door for a moment. Fortunately, she found her own way back home. That made for a tense moment, but luckily it ended well.
In addition, Pattex is very affectionate. She likes to seek contact and regularly comes close. She still finds petting a bit scary sometimes. Then she might give a little swat or a gentle nip. However, her new owners are learning to recognize her signals better and better. As a result, things are improving every day and she can enjoy being petted for longer and longer.
We are incredibly happy with this wonderful adoption update. Once again, we see how important a calm transition, patience, and love are for the successful rehoming of a shelter cat. 💛
Greetings from Pattex and her family!
