Internships at the Haags Dierencentrum

An internship at Haags Dierencentrum gives students the chance to gain practical experience in a professional animal shelter. Currently, we are not looking for interns for the dog and cat departments. Normally, however, the dog department offers excellent opportunities for animal care students at level 3 or 4. As an Aequor-recognized training company, we mentor interns who want to apply their education in practice.

During an internship, you help with the daily care of the dogs. This includes feeding, cleaning, observing behavior, and reporting any issues. You learn to handle different dogs, each with their own background and character. Additionally, you gain experience in teamwork, following routines, and supporting animal welfare. Depending on the day, you may also observe medical check-ups or behavioral training.

We are looking for motivated interns who are available for at least five weeks. An internship with us is educational, practical, and great preparation for a career as an animal caretaker.
