Donating with tax benefits
Would you like to give the dogs and cats at the Haags Dierencentrum a helping hand? There are several ways to do so. Did you know that your gift can even provide you with a tax benefit? This allows you to make an even greater impact for our animals with the same amount.
Why donate to the Haags Dierencentrum?
When you donate to the HDC, you help us directly with shelter, medical care, and loving attention for animals that desperately need it. Because we have ANBI status (Public Benefit Organization), your donations are tax-deductible under certain conditions. Furthermore, the HDC pays no tax on your donation or inheritance; your gift therefore benefits the animals 100%.
Choose the donation that suits you
There are two ways to donate with tax advantages. The main difference lies in the tax benefit you receive.

Our tip: A periodic gift is often more interesting if you want to support us for a longer period. Because there is no threshold, you get a portion back from the tax authorities for every euro.
Checklist: how to arrange your donation
Do you want to make a gift and make optimal use of the gift deduction? Then follow these steps:
Determine your gift: Choose whether you want to make a one-time donation or support us for a longer period with a periodic gift.
Check our ANBI status: You can find us in the ANBI register of the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration under ‘Haags Dierencentrum’. This is your guarantee that your gift is deductible.
Record it (for periodic donations): Do you want to donate periodically? Then use the official form from the tax authorities. We are happy to fill this out together with you.
Keep your records: Keep your bank statements safe for your tax return.
File your return: Report your donations in your annual tax return and benefit from the deduction.
Other ways to make an impact
Legacies: You can also include the Haags Dierencentrum in your will via a legacy or as a (co-)heir. This way, you also care for the Hague shelter animals in the future.
