Why adopt a dog from the Haags Dierencentrum
When you adopt one of our dogs, you give him or her a warm home and a second chance at a happy life. That is wonderful in itself, of course. In addition, there are even more benefits:
- You receive professional and personal guidance, so you can find a dog that truly suits you.
- All our animals are carefully checked by a veterinarian.
- The animals are vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas.
- Dogs are assessed for behavior and receive extra training if necessary.
- We are also here for you after the adoption: as a new owner, you can still contact us for 14 days for aftercare.

Adopting a dog: how it works
Fill in the adoption form
Would you like to adopt a dog? Then first fill in an adoption form. At the Haags Dierencentrum, we work exclusively by appointment, so we have enough time for a careful match.
After you fill in the form, our animal caretakers will contact you as soon as possible to discuss the possibilities.
Looking for the right match
Based on your details, we look at which dog best fits your living situation, experience, and wishes.
We then schedule an appointment for an introduction. It may happen that there is no dog available at that time that is a good match. In that case, we would be happy to think along with you for a later time.
Getting to know the dog
During your visit, you will meet the dog that might be a good fit for you. You will receive extensive information about their behavior, background, and care.
Dogs usually do not go home immediately. We often plan two or more introductory moments, so that both you and the dog can get used to each other quietly and we can be sure it is a good match.
Adoption and aftercare
Is it a match? Then you will become your dog’s new owner. Congratulations!
You sign an adoption agreement and the dog is officially registered in your name. Even after the adoption, you can contact us for questions or advice. We are happy to support you in the initial period, so that you get off to a good start together.
