Amandel

Amandel is a wonderfully energetic, sweet, playful, and alert little cat. She can be a bit fearful when she sees or hears something ‘scary’ and will start to growl. How else are you supposed to let someone know that something ‘scary’ is tense?

Amandel has been a fantastic mom. And as if that wasn’t enough, she also had plenty of love to spare for a kitten that was in the room next to her. That kitten was welcome to come and play with her and her own kittens, and Amandel treated her just as lovingly as her own—a true super-mom!

When Amandel first came to us, she was covered in fleas and quite thin. Fortunately, the fleas are a thing of the past. However, she still needs to put on some weight, which shouldn’t be too difficult as she absolutely loves food. There is one small catch: she has had bladder stones and therefore requires special food. She isn’t allowed to eat anything else, but luckily she loves her kibble and sees her wet food as a culinary highlight.

Amandel enjoys being petted, but she needs a little time to get to know you. Approaching her calmly is best. Once she trusts you, she shows more and more of her sweet character.

We are looking for a quiet home for her, without too much commotion, unexpected noises, or other ‘scary’ things. Someone with some experience with cats and no young children; older children might be okay, provided they also have experience with cats and interact with her calmly.

She loved her kittens, but she’s also happy that they’ve all flown the nest. She isn’t interested in other cats and would like a home where she is the only four-legged friend.

A garden is something Amandel needs. With her energy, she can go on discovery tours there, play, and have her own adventures.
