On September 25, we welcomed Hera Butt, councilor and deputy group leader of GroenLinks Den Haag. She visited the Haags Dierencentrum together with her colleague Luc van Aalderen, a group staff member. During the visit, they got to know our work. We also talked about animal welfare and social involvement.
Tour and discussions on animal welfare
Hera Butt deals with various topics, such as education, integration, economy, public order, nature, and animal welfare. During the tour, she and Luc got a good impression of our daily activities. We showed them how we shelter and care for animals. In addition, they asked specific questions about the challenges we face and our role within the Hague community.
For the Haags Dierencentrum, the visit offered a valuable moment to share experiences. We discussed bottlenecks such as findability, accessibility, and the safety of the access road.
Importance of cooperation and future perspective
The visit showed how important cooperation is between social organizations and local politics. By exchanging experiences, understanding of our daily work grows. It also becomes clear what support is needed to continue this work. The conversation provided space to look ahead and discuss how animal welfare and social involvement can continue to grow together in The Hague.
