Volunteers are the beating heart of the Haags Dierencentrum. That’s why this day was all about appreciation. During a special moment, we thanked our volunteers for their years of commitment, involvement, and love for animals. Their work makes a difference every single day for stray dogs and cats in The Hague.
Indispensable commitment to animal welfare
Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, animals get a second chance. They care for the animals, go on walks, offer comfort, and give attention where it’s needed. In addition, volunteers also support the organization, management, and board. Together, they share responsibility for an organization that feels like a medium-sized company but runs on compassion and cooperation.
Whether someone is active in the clinic, in the animal department, behind the scenes, or on the board: every contribution counts. Together with the staff, volunteers ensure that the Haags Dierencentrum remains a safe and loving place for animals in need.
More than ten years of involvement
During this meeting, we gave a special shout-out to a group of volunteers. They have been actively involved with the center for more than ten years. Their years of commitment, experience, and knowledge form a stable foundation for the work carried out daily. That deserves special recognition.
City Medal from the Municipality of The Hague
On behalf of the mayor and aldermen of the Municipality of The Hague, these volunteers received the City Medal. This award is intended for people who commit themselves to the city in an exceptional way. With special thanks from the Alderman for Animal Welfare, they were presented with this honorable recognition.
The City Medal underlines how important volunteering is for animal welfare and for The Hague society as a whole. The recipients are an inspiration to everyone who is committed to people and animals.
