welcoming people and getting them excited about the work of the Haags Dierencentrum? Then we are looking for you!
The Haags Dierencentrum (HDC) is the oldest animal shelter in the Netherlands. We recently opened our doors for exclusive behind-the-scenes tours. The interest has been enormous: our tours are filling up fast! To manage these visits and provide our visitors with an unforgettable, welcoming morning, we are looking for enthusiastic hosts to join our team on a voluntary basis.
What will you be doing?
As a volunteer host, you are the face of the HDC during the tours. You will warmly welcome groups of up to 10 people with a smile and take them on an exclusive behind-the-scenes route.
You will talk about:
● The daily care and loving dedication for our dogs and cats.
● The medical facilities and how we work together to build a safe, new future for our residents.
● The special stories from the field and the history of our beautiful shelter. You will answer questions from the public and ensure that visitors go home with a warm and welcome feeling about the HDC.
The best part is: the proceeds from the tours (€7.50 per person) go entirely towards the care of the shelter animals. So you are contributing directly to their well-being!
Who are we looking for?
- You have good communication skills, you are hospitable, and you enjoy guiding a small group (max. 10 people) in a relaxed manner.
- You are enthusiastic about animal welfare and care deeply about the Haags Dierencentrum.
- You are reliable, open, and professional (after all, you are our representative!).
- Ideally, you are flexible and available on Saturday mornings (the tours take place from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM).
- Experience in hospitality, education, tourism, or customer service is a plus, but a warm personality and enthusiasm are the most important things!
