The December 2025 Animail is out and is once again packed with stories that show what the Haags Dierencentrum stands for every day: care, love, and new chances for animals. In this winter edition, we look back on a special and successful year, in which hundreds of animals were taken in and guided to a new home.
One of the poignant medical stories is that of Diederik, the tomcat with a painful tail. What started as a small wound turned out to be a serious subcutaneous infection. Thanks to quick medical care, intensive treatment, and a lot of patience, Diederik has now recovered well. His story shows how important expert animal care is and why timely intervention can save lives.
There is also great adoption news. In Letters from the Owner, you can read the heartwarming story of Djeko and Jacky, a match that was created with great care and patience. After no less than 499 days in the shelter, Jacky was finally allowed to go to her new home, where she and Djeko now enjoy peace, structure, and above all, a lot of love together.
In addition, we are asking for extra attention in this Animail for animals that are still waiting. Laska and Kamy are two long-term residents who are urgently looking for a special home that suits their needs. With extra attention and the right environment, they also deserve a stable and loving future.
